SCACS 2010 Supplier of the Year - American Snuff Company |
|
“Out of the hundreds of supplier members in the SC Association of Convenience Stores (SCACS) membership, the American Snuff Company was recognized and honored at the association’s recent annual convention as statewide 2010 SCACS Supplier of the Year,” according to Leigh Faircloth, CAE, SCACS Executive Director.
“The recommendation for this award was not predicated on just a single year of support or accomplishments but rather the last five, six, seven or more years of support by this company and in particular our representative to SCACS – Jeff Ham,” according to Brad Poe, COO of Buck Management, the SCACS retailer who nominated the company and Ham.
Poe added, “As a company, American Snuff (formerly Conwood Tobacco) has always been generous with their support of SCACS. The company can always be counted on in sponsorship of all of our activities throughout the year – our annual leadership and planning conference, the SE Petro Show, our educational seminars and scholarship program as well as the annual convention and spring golf classic. In addition to their financial support, they also provide manpower to support these same causes.”

Beer & Wine Permit Holders Take Note! |
|
South Carolina Supreme Court Issues Important Alcohol Liability Decision Concerning Service of Intoxicated Persons.
Writing for the majority, South Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Toal has penned an important opinion that affects how every beer and wine permit holder should do business in South Carolina.
The Supreme Court’s new decision in Hartfield v. The Getaway Lounge & Grill, Inc., raises the stakes for beer and wine permit holders. Mistakes and misjudgments about a patron’s sobriety can result in adverse outcomes for the permit holder in the form of sizeable judgments. Being careful about whom your serve and how much is more crucial than ever. One accident can lead not only to death and serious injury, but also the loss of your business – and perhaps your personal assets.
