The South Carolina Subsidized Transitional Employment Program (STEP)

To: S.C. Association of Convenience Stores

The South Carolina Department of Employment & Workforce (SCDEW, formerly S.C. Employment Security Commission) and Department of Social Services (SCDSS) are implementing an exciting New Work Program, The South Carolina Subsidized Transitional  Employment Program (STEP).  This program will not only benefit our clients, it will be beneficial to any employer who would like to be a part of this work initiative.

The STEP program will provide employers with the following benefits:

  • Wage Reimbursements
  • Employer Tax Credits available
  • A Qualified Workforce
  • Partnership with SCDEW and SCDSS

Employers will receive a reimbursement of $7.25 per hour for up to 20 hours per week for up to six months.
